N.W.A.
Considered one of the pioneers of Gangsta Rap, N.W.A. was not just among the first of their kind, they might just be considered the best.

In what would become an All Star roster that featured Ice Cube, Dr. Dre & Eazy-E, N.W.A. rapped of life that celebrated the lifestyle of the ghetto. Raps about violence and sex were common place and their explicit lyrics garnered them much attention (both positive and negative). To this day, their booming intensity can be heard in many of the Gangsta rappers that followed. With only two albums of note, it can be argued that their discography is limited but there are other Hall of Fame entries whose output was less. Regardless, it can be argued that N.W.A. belongs in on the strength of their first album alone, as it was one of those efforts that made audiences; critics of any race take notice and shift the focal point of music to the streets of L.A.

Considering the very high profile of Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, there is a lot of speculation that their wait for entry will not be long.
