If there were a Queen of rock then janis might sit atop the throne. No female has been able to emulate the impact that Janis had on the world of rock music since she told the old boys school of rock to open the doors i m coming in. And she did it in 5 years. it wasn't just that incredibly raspy voice with the passion and the soul that told you she was living what she was singing about but it was her attitiude as well. She was the ultimate of going to live hard and die young of any artist ever. She could hang with the boys in any situation and millions of young women have taken her cue and got out of the kitchen and lived life to the fullest even if that means throwing caution to the wind. Live today as hard as you can and worry about tomorrow when it comes. She is a member of the legendary 27 club (the only female) and her impact on rock and culture should nevr be in doubt. Every time you see a girl strumming a guitar on a street corner trying to say something to the world then thank janis. She is the one who put them there.
