Elvis Presley
It has been said that Elvis Presley is only the King of Rock and Roll because he appropriated Black music.  Regardless of that statement, at some point a white man had to do this to bring Rock to the masses and nobody was better than Elvis.

Inducted in 1986.  From Tupelo, Mississippi, U.S.A.

Number one on any list on the list of artists who should be in the hall of fame. Simple question. would we even know what rock and roll was if Elvis had not taken this burgeoning style of music and with his sheer charisma made it the most popular style of music the world has ever known. He may not have been the first but he for damn sure is the man who made rock what it is. He has become way beyond the biggest recording artist of all time. He is a religion. And those who pray to the King understand why! He is also the very embodiment of the American way where anybody can become the biggest star on the planet with a little luck and ingenuity. And please don't question his music. When it came out it was as cutting edge and hard driving as anything the Mighty Zepp ever did and changed more people's way of looking at what music is. It may be pop now buty it was the definition of rebelliousiousn ess in the 50's. Nirvana nevr had anything so controversial as Elvis's hips on Ed Sullivan and pardon me Public Enemy but Elvis was the first to fight the power. to take black music and make it popular with the whites was the very definition of courageous. And those who say he didn't write his own material are crazy. Elvis took material and made it his own. He wa as much a part of developing the sound of rock and roll as any songwriter. Elvis is not only the King of rock and roll, he is basically the inventor of the genre as well. And nobody should ever question that.

    Fernando Tatis
Realistically, Fernando Tatis only had one good season in the professional baseball. In 99, Tatis had 34 Home Runs, 107 RBIs and an OPS of .957. That campaign proved to be an anomaly as the native of the Dominican Republic never approached those numbers again. Still the Third Basemen does have the Sporting News Comeback Player of the Year award…
