Bob Seger

He sang about “Old Time Rock and Roll” and there are many who thinks that Bob Seger epitomizes the Rock and Roll feel better than anyone.  It took him a long time to get famous but he didn’t have to wait that long to get inducted once eligible.

Inducted in 2004.  From Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.

The only problem with Mr. Seger's induction is obviously where is the Silver Bullet Band? Like many other (Smokey wout the Miracles being the biggest injustice) the Hall has chosen to let in individuals who's name was in front of the group instead of letting the entire group in. Yes Seger was the writing and driving force behind the band but he knows that his bandmates played an improtant part of the success of the group. In some cases this might be justified (Prince wout the Revolution is a good example) but Bob wout the Silver Bullet Band was basically pop music at best.

Bob w/out the Silver Bullet band was the Bob Seger System. And they rocked. But the HOF ignores backing bands as long as the singer's name is in the band. Always have, probably always will.
