It's really too bad that Bowie doesn't care about being in the Rock Hall. The award means nothing to him, and he said so. That's why he didn't show up for his induction, and why Madonna had to accept the award for him. The guy IS a musical genius, and I wish he would appreciate his induction. Oh well....

David Bowie is without question the most diverse individual artist in music history. Every song was unique within itself and sounded completely different than anything he or anyone else had done previously. he reinvented himself with every new phase he went through. And his music is phenomenal. From space oddity to the present Bowie had the inate ability to go three steps beyond the norm and produce some music that will live forever. In doing this he affected more artists not only in musicality but style than just about anyone. I am sure there is not a music fan alive that does not love at least one of his phases. One of his signature tunes is changes (the one i fell in love with Bowie with) and there is no aprapo title for the chameleon of rock. I wish every atist had the talent and the guts to make themselves all over again every few years. A true musical genius.
