When the Wu-Tang Clan arrived in 1993, they rewrote the book on how Rap was to be done.  As a collection of MC’s, Wu-Tang became stars immediately and their collection of rappers would become the equivalent of a Rapping All Star Team.

Seriously, look at some of the names in this group:

RZA
GZA
Ghostface Killah
Method Man
Ol’ Dirty Bastard
Raekwon

It wasn’t long before other Rap ensembles emerged patterning themselves after them and they were without question the most influential hip hop act of the mid-90’s.  With many of them becoming certifiable solo stars, it could be hard to stop the induction of the Wu-Tang Clan as their entry to the Hall would gain entry for all the members without having to induct the solo careers of each member.  As Wu-Tang had street and critical credibility, their induction may be impossible to stop.
