Not in Hall of Fame News

This was sudden. David Baker has just announced his immediate resignation as the President of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, citing that it was time to return home, and retire.  He held that post for eight years. You will have to forgive us, as the timing seems very suspect.  We are a little more than a month away from the announcement of the 2022 Semi-Finalists, and are nearly a third into the NFL Season.  An abrupt retirement at this time, coinciding with the Washington Football Team scandal that saw the NFL go through over 60,000 e-mails raises red flags. We have been…
The process continues. We here are Notinhalloffame.com have plans to create our own set of post-season awards, which we will look back and retroactively present from 1901 on.  That will take a while, but it has never stopped us before! Our awards are not be league specific. Now it is time for our 2021 positional awards. We will be awarding a positional player of the year, but not only that, offer up the runner-up and second runner-up, meaning that we will have First, Second and Third All-MLB players. Let’s work our way around the diamond and award the best of the…

Regular visitors of Notinhalloffame.com know that we are slowly working on the top 50 of every major team in the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB.  Once that is done, we intend to look at how each team honor their past players, coaches and executives.  As such, it is news to us that the Washington Football Team have announced that they will be retiring the number 21 of the late Sean Taylor this Sunday. Taylor was the fifth overall pick in 2004, and would become the team’s starting Free Safety.  He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2006 and posthumously in 2007, when…
As dawn rises on the 2021-21 NBA Season, we here at Notinhalloffame.com are continuing our new tradition of the pre-season 50 current players based on their Hall of Fame current resume.   Consider this our version of a Hall of Fame monitor. Here is how we decide our Top 50: The most significant factor we look at is how each active player measures up to the last fourteen players who were chosen.  To be specific, we are focusing only on players who were voted through the conventional means and not through any special committee. What this means that no Direct-Elect Committee Inductees will…

Our awards are not be league specific. The first award that we will be giving out is the most important, the MVP, and who else could it be?  It is Los Angeles Angels, Pitcher and Designated Hitter, Shohei Ohtani, who was also the winner of the inaugural NIHOF Baseball Cup. Not since Babe Ruth, have we ever seen a dominant hitter who…
Yes, we know that this is taking a while! As many of you know, we here at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the 50 of each major North American sports team.  That being said, we have existing Top 50 lists out and we always consistently look to update them when we can and based on necessity.  As such, we are very happy to present our pre-2021-22 revision of our top 50 Anaheim Ducks. As for all of our top 50 players in hockey we look at the following:  1.  Advanced Statistics. 2.  Traditional statistics and how they finished in the NHL.  3.  Playoff accomplishments. 4.  Their overall…
Our goal at Notinhalloffame.com has always been to expand, and we are now in the “business” of post season awards.   That’s right sports agents!  Work this into your client’s contracts! Here we are unveiling the first ever MLB Cup, awarded to the player who achieved the most Points in a year. Confused, aren’t you? It is very simple what we did. In every MLB game in the 2021 season, we borrowed from the Three Stars that the NHL does after every game.  Three Points were given to the best player of the game, two for the second and one for the third.  It…
This retirement should get a lot more press than it is. Pau Gasol, the greatest basketball player from Spain, and a member of the Mount Rushmore of European Basketball has announced his retirement from the game. Debuting in the NBA for the Memphis Grizzlies in 2001, the 7’ 1” Center, becoming the first European to win the Rookie of the Year.  An All-Star for Memphis in 2006, Gasol never had a year where his PPG was lower than 17, his RPG were lower than 7, and his Blocks were lower than 1.5 per Game.  Gasol was low-key one of the more complete…
