Welcome

Welcome to Notinhalloffame.com!

Quite simply we are a website that is dedicated to promoting those who have achieved levels of excellence in fields of athletics and music but who have not yet reached the hallowed halls of their respective Halls of Fame. This site will focus primarily on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Baseball Hall of Fame, Hockey Hall of Fame, Basketball Hall of Fame, Football Hall of Fame and even the WWE Hall of Fame. As we grow, other assorted lists pertaining to Pop Culture will populate here. Please visit often as we are a work in progress and will always be expanding our site.

Notinhalloffame.com: Because if it is not in the Hall of Fame, you will find it on Notinhalloffame.com.

Ron Simmons to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame
Share |
Posted by Committee Chairman on February 20 2012 17:35:05

Ron Simmons has been selected for the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame class, and we are very happy with this selection.  Simmons wrestled mostly as "Faarooq" in the WWE, first leading the "Nation of Domination" faction in the late 90's and then spending the rest of his WWE tenure in a tag team with Bradshaw (who would later be known as JBL).  Prior to that, Simmons was the first African American World Heavyweight Champion in WCW and was a college football standout at Florida State.  Of note, this makes the third major post career accolade for Simmons as he is already in the College Football Hall of Fame (2008) and had his jersey retired by the Seminoles.  We congratulate Ron Simmons on this latest achievement in what has been a stellar career.

Another move from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.....That We Like!

It has been reported that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will be working with Downtown Cleveland to create a "Walk of Fame" of sorts.  Hall of Fame inductees will have their names emblazened with bronze plaques in downtown, which is a way of cementing the Rock Hall as a larger attraction for the city.  We will go on record that we love this initiative, and are happy for anything that may draw people to Cleveland; a hard working town that really needs this type of tourism revenue.
Tim Wakefield Retires

Okay, we know that Tim Wakefield is not a Hall of Famer, and will not escape the first year of eligibility on the ballot.  With that said, we have a soft spot for good knuckleball pitchers, and Wakefield was certainly that.  He retires with 200 wins, the bulk of which were with the Boston Red Sox.  He was a one time All Star with a pair of World Series rings.  It may not be Hall of Fame, but it is a solid career to us.

Our top rated Wide Receiver, Cris Carter took to venting a bit on the Michael Irvin radio show recently.  We have attached an exceprt of the interview here, which sums up a lot of what we actually think ourselves.

RIP Gary Carter

Today, we are saddened to learn of the passing of Hall of Fame Catcher, Gary Carter.  The former Met and Expo was diagnosed with multiple brain tumors and sadly the man nicknamed the "Kid" was unable to conquer his greatest foe.  Personally, Gary Carter was an early favorite of mine and the multi-time All Star will be mourned by many.  He was only 57.

Our apologies as we should have put this up five days ago....but considering that it took the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame decades to right some of these wrongs, we don't feel so bad.

I wish i could say that this was a surprise but I don't that there is anyone who has watched the downfall of Whitney Houston over the last ten years that is shocked but the news of her passing.

The Retirement of Ricky Williams

Posted by Committee Chairman on February 07 2012 17:34:16
So how are we to remember Ricky Williams?  Is it as the man who was part of the dumbest draft day trade when Mike Ditka convinced the New Orleans Saints to give up their ENTIRE draft to get him?  Is it as the guy who foolishly cost himself millions by signing Master P as an agent and signed one of the dumbest deals in history.  Is it as the eccentric introvert who likely never really loved football and would rather smoke weed?  Or maybe as the man who led the NFL in rushing yards in 2002?

Super Bowl Thoughts Part Two: A Legend, A Finger, and a Million Diverse Opinions

Ten years ago when Nipplegate happened, I missed it completely.  I was at a friend's house with six other guys and we played poker through most of the Halftime Show.  The women, came downstairs to watch the Halftime Show, but long story short, through twelve sets of unfocused eyes, Janet Jackson's left nipple was not seen by my pizza guzzling bunch.

Super Bowl Analysis.  Since we can find that anywhere, we thought we would give our brief Hall of Fame related (and what we plan to be annual) look at three Super Bowl participants who saw their Hall of Fame stock go up, and three who we think saw enshrinement take a step back.....

The runs scored is impressive, but, in fairness, that's the mark of a very good player who benefitted from some great teammates. McGriff was a legit all-star first baseman and MVP candidate. Damon

Damon would be the ultimate compiler. He has had a long strong of very good seasons, but never really a great one. He's kind of like this generation's Vada Pinson. 3, 000 hits is the only way

Random question posed by a Joe Posnanski article today,,, do any of you think Johnny Damon is a Hall of Famer? What if he gets 3,000 hits? Even as a BoSox fan I say no on both counts.

Hopefully, we have our 100 songs up by the end of the week!
