9. Andre Reed

Andre Reed
The Buffalo Bills took a lot of flak for losing four consecutive Super Bowls, but only a very talented team could ever get into that position.  The offense was a triumvirate of stars which included Jim Kelly (Quarterback), Thurman Thomas (Running Back) and their Wide Receiver, Andre Reed.  The first two are in the Football Hall of Fame.  Many in Buffalo are hoping that Andre Reed will join them.

They have reason to be optimistic.  Reed was a seven time Pro Bowl selection and the best wide out on a very good Bills team.  Although the Bills did lose those four consecutive Super Bowls, Buffalo was brilliant in getting there, and Reed was a big part generating many clutch performances in high profile regular season and playoff games.

What works against Andre Reed is that he was always the “third” in the Bills power trio.  Subsequently, though he made multiple Pro Bowls, he never made First Team All Pro, nor did he lead the NFL in a major category.  Still, with his type of consistency and career tallies, Reed will likely join his fellow Bills in Canton.

Gump Worsley (and again, this is a name we absolutely love) may have lost more games than he won in the NHL, but that is widely due to being on some awful teams, in which he was still praised by fans for keeping those squads as competitive as they were. Gump did play for some abysmal teams in the 50’s, but…
