It is a pretty big day in the Baseball Hall of Fame as the Today’s Game Era Committee has announced their 10 nominees for the Hall. This is one of four committees, which includes the Modern Baseball, Golden Days and Early Baseball. Specifically, the Today’s Game Era Committee comprises candidates whose contributions occurred from 1988 on. Along with the Modern Baseball Committee the Today’s Era Committee meets twice in a five year period. It wouldn’t be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame without a high profile artist stating that they don’t want any part of it. Trent Reznor just added his name to that list. It is a sad day for fans of the Green Bay Packers and Pro Football in general as Hall of Fame Fullback Jim Taylor passed away today at the age of 83. An All-American at LSU, the Packers would select Taylor in the second round of the 1958 draft. He saw limited action as a rookie but when Vince Lombardi was hired, Taylor would become a feature back.
