Mike Hampton Retires

Well gang another Baseball Star retired today during the Spring Training Season. Mike Hampton called it a career and ended his attempt to earn a roster spot with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Hampton will not be entering Cooperstown, and it is doubtful that his support will reach the five percent in his opening year of eligibility. With that said, there was a time when many pundits thought he had a shot. Hampton was the runner up for the National League Cy Young Award in 1999 and followed it up with a solid campaign with the Mets. It was here that Hampton…
We apologize for being a little late with this, but congratulations go out to Abdullah the Butcher for his induction to the WWE Hall of Fame. We have to admit, that we never thought it would happen due to his lack of WWE tenure, but it is an induction that we are thoroughly behind.

RIP Oliver Humperdink

Boy, am I getting tired of writing about people passing away. However, I guess when you start a website that focuses on legendary figures, there is a good chance that this will happen on a regular basis. The latest name is known only to wrestling fans, that being, Sir Oliver Humperdink who was a long time manager in regional promotions and had a near one year stint in the WWF. Humperdink was at time a wrestler himself, but he did not have the physical gifts to be a headliner. He worked his way into managing, and was a fixture in…

Drew Carey? Really?

The WWE announced its newest inductee to their celebrity wing which is Drew Carey. For those unaware, Carey was actually a participant in the 2001 Royal Rumble where he eliminated himself rather than face Kane. Carey did a couple of backstage skts on the Pay Per View, but beyond those two minutes talking with Vince McMahon and three minutes in the ring, Carey was never seen in the WWE again. We did not rank him on our Celebrity Inductee list, and we don't regret that decision. Drew Carey did entertain that night, but there are far more deserving celebrity inductees…
Well gang, with all the talk that we constantly do around here regarding who should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, we almost forgot that tonight is the official induction of the 2011 Class. Needless to say, regular visitors to our site will know how happy we are with Alice Cooper's induction and pleasantly surprised by Tom Waits, Leon Russell and Neil Diamond getting in. Dr. John and Darlene Love are also set to be inducted tonight, though the latter two did not have high spots on our rankings. Regardless, this is the night that we here…

RIP: Rick Martin

Rick Martin, our #18 Selection on our Hockey List passed away as the result of a car accident today. Martin was a member of the famed "French Connection" and is one of the all time greats for the Buffalo Sabres Organization. Martin was a seven time All Star and set the rookie record (which has since been broken) for Goals in a season. He would twice score 50 goals and along with his linemates of Gilbert Perrault and Rene Robert, would lead the Sabres to a Stanley Cup Final in 1975. Martin's career prematurely ended due to a severe injury…
They called her the original diva, and in many ways that is the best way to refer to the next inductee to the WWE Hall of Fame. Although her legal name is Tammy Sytch, she is best known to wrestling fans as "Sunny". As Sunny, Tammy Sytch was not known for what she did in the ring....and nor should she as she never really did wrestle. But she was eye candy who appealed to virtually all men and knew how to talk on the microphone. We had her at #103, which we felt was an accurate number. Sytch was ranked…
The Current WWE Hall of Fame List is up on our site. Do you agree with Vince McMahon and whom he has selected to be in his Hall of Fame? Cast your vote here at Notinhalloffame.com!
The next entrant to the 2011 WWE Hall of Fame Class has been announced and it is "Bullet" Bob Armstrong.  The "Bullet" may not be known to a lot of newer wrestling fans, but he was a long time star in the American South throughout the 70's and early 80's, and is the father of  attitude era star, the Road Dogg. We had ranked Armstrong #131 on our list, and though he did get inducted, it is a rank we still agree with.  Bob Armstrong never worked for Vince Jr., and though he had a good relationship with Vince Sr.,…

RIP: Duke Snider 1926-2011

We here at Notinhalloffame mourn the loss of Baseball Hall of Famer, Duke Snider who passed away today. Snider was one of the All Time great Dodgers, and he entered the Hall of Fame in 1980. The former eight time All Star, and constant MVP threat in the 1950's blted 407 Home Runs in his illustrious career. "The Duke of Flatbush" had his number #4 retired by the Dodgers in 1980. It was a well deserved honor.
