Not in Hall of Fame News

Happy Opening Day! What better way to celebrate today’s festivities than by unveiling the Notinhalloffame.com Baseball list of those to consider for the Baseball Hall of Fame for 2025? You can see the entire list of 300 players here, but this is the new Top 10. This is based on your votes, new entrants, and a blanket look at the candidates. At #1 is Barry Bonds, the seven-time MVP and all-time leader in Home Runs.  The man was a hitting God but was beset with PED allegations and snubbed by both the Baseball Voters and Seniors.  Bonds may hold #1…
1958 PRELIMINARY RESULTS: Thank you to all of you who have participated in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Revisited Project. If you are unaware of what that is, simply, we acted as if the PFHOF had its first class in January 1946. We have completed the first 13 years thus far. For “1958,” a Preliminary Vote with close to 130 players whose playing career ended by 1952. We are also following the structure in that players have 20 years of eligibility, and if they do not make it into the Hall, they are relegated to the Senior Pool. Each…
This March, we have been working diligently on adding to our futures section in the big four sports.  We have another update to share, added names to the 2025 Hockey Futures. All of the names feature retired players who will first be Hall of Fame eligible for the Class of 2025.  You can now vote and/or comment as to whether you believe these names are (or are not) Hall of Fame worthy. The added names are: Andrew Ladd:  Ladd played 16 seasons and won two Stanley Cups, one with Carolina and a second with Chicago. Andy Greene:  Playing Defense, Greene…
The Country Music Hall of Fame announced the three new members who will comprise the Class of 2024.  Toby Keith (Modern Era), John Anderson (Veterans Era) and James Burton (Recording and/or touring musician). Toby Keith died days from stomach cancer after the votes were counted.  A polarizing figure in music, Keith had 20 #1 Hits, with another 20 reaching the top ten.  Known for his patriotism, Keith broke out in the 1990s and is best known for his songs “Should’ve Been A Cowboy,” “I Love This Bar,” and “Red Solo Cup.” John Anderson began his musical career in the late…
The Strong Museum is back at it, giving us another reason to take a trip out to Rochester, New York, as they have announced the 12 Finalists for the 10th Class.  Here is how it works: The ballots are sent to the International Selection Advisory Committee, and the public can participate, too, as online voting is open.  The top three vote-getters will equate to one ballot. On May 9, they will announce the new Class. As per their news release of the Strong Museum, here are the nominees and why they were chosen: ASTEROIDS:  Released in 1979, Atari’s Asteroids offered…
Yes, we know that this is taking a while! As many of you know, we here at Notinhalloffame.com are slowly generating the top 50 of each major North American sports team.  That being said, we have existing Top 50 lists out, and we always consistently look to update them when we can and based on necessity.  As such, we are very happy to present our post-2023 revision of our top 50 Tampa Bay Rays. 1957 Pro Football Hall of Fame Revisited Project Class. Here we are!  Again!! If you have been following our Pro Football Hall of Fame Revisited Project, you know that we have asked the rhetorical question: What if the PFHOF began in January 1946? After soliciting and obtaining a passionate group of football fans and historians, we sent out a ballot for a Preliminary Vote, in which we asked each voter to give us 25 names as their semi-finalists and 5 in the Senior Pool. Following that, we asked the group to vote for their 15 Finalists in the Modern Era…
There are a lot of Quarterbacks and Offensive Coordinators who are breathing easier today. Aaron Donald, the most terrorizing Defensive Player in the last ten years, has announced his retirement after ten years in the NFL, all with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams.  Drafted 13th Overall in 2014 from Pittsburgh, Donald accomplished everything a player could.  Named to the Pro Bowl in all ten of his campaigns, Donald was a First Team All-Pro in seven of them and won three Defensive Player of the Year Awards.  Donald also won the Defensive Rookie of the Year and achieved the ultimate goal:…
Regular visitors of Notinhalloffame.com know that we are slowly working on the top 50 of every major team in the NHL, NBA, NFL and MLB.  Once that is done, we intend to look at how each team honor their past players, coaches and executives.  As such, it is important to us that the Kansas City Royals will induct Bo Jackson into their franchise Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place on June 29. The 1985 Heisman Trophy winner from Auburn was a two-sport athlete, playing both baseball and football. With the Royals, Jackson was an All-Star in 1989 and…
