As one of the main groups in the Neo-Progressive genre that started in the early 80’s, Marillion is unarguably it’s most enduring. Still active today, Marillion has continued their “progression” treating each album as a reaction to their last. As enduring as their fans are, and as successful as they were in England one question concerning the Hall seems obvious to us: if Progressive Rock artists can’t get in what chance does a Neo-Progressive band have?

How could Marillion *not* be in The Hall? They are the ones who basically started the idea of pledging money to be part of a new album release. Way before sites such as PledgeMusic.
There were also one of the earliest artists to have a high quality web site - widely considered one of the best site still with loads of information.
As well, they were one of the earliest to allow fans to buy music directly from the band - including exclusives.
Finally they have held multiple years of fan conventions called MarillionWeeken ds.
