Stat wise, McNabb has decent career numbers and six Pro Bowls, but he never was the unarguable top quarterback in a season. In fact, he was usually thought of in that 5-10 range in NFL stars. That was decent enough, but facts show that in his lone Super Bowl, he threw up (literally) and was on the accurate criticism of Terrell Owens who quipped that it wasn't him who lost the Super Bowl, in a thinly veiled shot at McNabb.
In the last two seasons, The Philadelphia Eagles thought so much of the Chunky Soup Spokesman that they shipped him within the division. McNabb's tenure saw him lose the QB position to the legendary Rex Grossman, and later in Minnesota to unproven rookie Christian Ponder.
Three years ago, we would have put McNabb on the wrong side of the HOF bubble but would have felt good ranking him somewhere on our list. Right now, we think McNabb played his way out of the Hall of Fame, and not even Donovan's mother would vote him into Canton?
Thoughts?
