RIP Randy "Macho Man" Savage

It is with great sadness that we learned of the death of Randy "Macho Man" Savage who passed away of  heart attack.  The Macho Man was a former World Heavyweight Champion in both the WWE and WCW and was one of the biggest draws of the 80's and 90's.  His signature vpice and look made him an icon in the world of wrestling.  Savage was #2 on our Wrestling list and one of the most baffling omissions to the WWE Hall of Fame.  We are pained that he can only now get in posthumously.

The Warrior posted a 15 minute you tube video on Savage. No makeup, no ranting, just solemn reminiscence . Dusty Rhodes commented they are only a few wrestlers from his time that resonated beyond wrestling. He named Hogan, Andre, Flair, himself and inclluded Savage in that. It's true, Macho Man was bigger than wrestling. It's a tragic loss especially when fences started to be mended, even with Hulk Hogan.

Truly is very sad. In my opinion, he gets in as the headliner next year, inducted by The Genius. I actually thought all along he would get inducted this year due to the ceremony taking place in his home state, but I don't believe the WWE ever built the HOF around someone who has passed. Perhaps they induct him and the Warrior together, that way they at least have one person who will be able to speak, albeit bizarrely, at the ceremony next year.

He probably will go in now though. There's going to be a serious push for his induction inside and outside of the company.

He was the one hall of fame speech I looked forward to the most though. I am devastated at this loss.

Perhaps none greater in the 80's for the combination and wrestling and entertainmen t. RIP, Macho Man!
