From Finland, Patrik Laine was the Second Overall Pick in 2016 behind Auston Matthews, and he has since shown the Winnipeg Jets that he was worthy of the selection.

Laine scored 64 Points as a rookie and finished second to Matthews for the Calder. In his sophomore year, the Finnish star had 44 Goals, with a league-leading 20 on the Power-Play. Since that time, Laine hproved to be one of the better scorers for the Jets, providing an even 250 Poiints in 306 Games, but his time in the Province of Manitoba came to an unexpected end.

Winnipeg, believeing they had enough finessee players, traded Laine after only one game into the 2020/21 Season to Columbus, in a move that perplexed some fans of the Jets.
