40. Patrik Sundstrom

40. Patrik Sundstrom

After five productive seasons in Vancouver, Swedish Center, Patrik Sundstrom was dealt to New Jersey, where he continued his healthy level of two-way play.

Sundstrom had 51 Points in his first full year as a Devil (1987-88), which was significantly lower than his previous numbers in Vancouver, but in Game 3 of the Patrick Division Final, Sundstrom set a playoff record, scoring eight Points.  Sundstrom had 69 and 76 Points in his next two years, with the latter seeing the Center also finish ninth in Frank J. Selke voting.

Sundstrom was injured for most of the 1991-92 Season, and he would opt not to return to the NHL, going back to Sweden instead.  He would have 246 Points in 305 Games as a Devil.
