gold star for USAHOF

18. Kari Lehtonen

18. Kari Lehtonen

Kari Lehtonen may not have had the playoff success that other Dallas Stars Goalies have had, but he hasn’t exactly had the support that other franchise backstops have enjoyed either.

The second overall pick in 2002 (and highest ever European Goalie drafted) has done a solid job for Dallas after he arrived from Atlanta and when people look at the lack of success that the Stars have had during his tenure, they never point to Lehtonen.  If anything they imply that he is a major reason that Dallas did as well as they have, and he did have an eighth-place finish for the Vezina in 2013-14, the same season he led all Goalies in Minutes Played.

Lehtonen would retire from the NHL in 2018 and had a winning record afor Dallas with 216 Wins to 150 Losses and 60 Ties.
