While Tim Thomas was often controversial, the fact remains that he had a lot of success when he backstopped the Boston Bruins.

It took Thomas a long time to become an elite goaltender, as it was not until he was 33 that he would become a starter, but in the five seasons where he was the Bruins primary choice between the pipes he would win the Vezina twice, the William M. Jennings Award once, the Conn Smythe Trophy and was a First Team All Star twice.

Most importantly for the Bruins, he anchored them to their sixth Stanley Cup win, which will forever make him a legendary figure in New England, no matter how less than perfect his departure was.
