The Boston Bruins fans were not always enamored with Ken Hodge.  Actually, the Bruins coaches weren’t exactly either.  The main reason for that as at 6 foot 2 and well over 200 pounds, he was bigger than most players, but did not always use his physicality as he was far more comfortable with offensive skill side of the game.  
Regardless of his popularity, the lopsided trade that brought him to Boston helped to usher in Boston’s rise and he was an integral part of Boston two Stanley Cups in the 1970’s.  Ironically, his trade away from Boston would be lopsided as well as he was traded for a young Rick Middleton, while Hodge would only play another 96 games.
