There have been a lot of great players who have worn the large “B” on there chest, many of whom can be called legends.
But there is only one Bobby Orr.
There are some who consider Orr to be the best hockey player period. This is the man who revolutionized the Defenceman position, showing that it could be used as an offensive weapon, yet do so without sacrificing your primary role of defending your end. There was no weakness in his game. He won Hart Trophies, Norris Trophies, Stanley Cups, Conn Smythe Trophies and was a many time First Team All NHL Selection.
He is the man whose image flying in the air while scoring a goal in the Stanley Cup against St. Louis is the most iconic image in Boston Bruins history.
There can be no other choice for the greatest Boston Bruin of all-time and this site could run another 100 years, and that won’t change.
Bobby Orr is just that good.
