The first overall pick of the 1996 NHL Draft, Chris Phillips was never a flashy player but was a rugged stay at home Defenseman who expertly patrolled the blue line.  A testament to his value, the Ottawa Senators kept him for his entire professional career, which was 1,179 Games, the most in franchise history.  This is a long and more than respectable career, but a Hall of Fame one?  Maybe it is one where his #4 should be retired by the Sens.

Considered undersized throughout his career, Daniel Briere tallied nearly 700 Points in his career but he may be best known for his playoff performance for the Philadelphia Flyers in 2010 when he led all skaters with 30 Points.  Briere was an All Star twice, and led the NHL in Shooting Percentage once.

Winning a Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007 (though he only played 5 games in the playoffs), Ilya Bryzgalov would later have two very good years in the National Hockey League with the Phoenix Coyotes.  Bryzgalov would earn Second Team All NHL honors in the 2009/10 season and finished 5th in Hart Trophy Voting.

The runner-up for the Calder Trophy in the 2003-04 Season, Michael Ryder would have a 63 Point rookie campaign with the Montreal Canadians.  Ryder never exceeded that point total again, but he did have four more campaigns with 50 or more Points or more.  He would also have an excellent playoff run with the Boston Bruins in their 2000-11 Stanley Cup win.

Olli Jokinen has the dubious distinction of going the longest in the NHL (799 Games) before he played in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  While he was not exactly the beneficiary of playing with NHL elite, his accomplishments Internationally for Finland has been solid where he has won Gold in the World Juniors, and a Silver and two Bronze Medals in Olympic play.  Any chance he has for the Hall of Fame would rely on his play for Finland, but the IIHF HOF could be in his reach.

Born in Brazil but raised in Canada, Defenseman, Robyn Regher would represent the hockey rich nation of Canada multiple times in International play.  Regher played the defensive side of the ice brilliantly, and helped Canada win the World Cup in 2004 and played for Canada in the 2006 Olympics.  He would also win a Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2014.

Known for his rugged stay at home style of defensive play, Scott Hannan was a respected member of the NHL for years.  His most notable work was with the San Jose Sharks, where he was well regarded for strong checking and rarely making mistakes.
