gold star for USAHOF

Gordie Howe

Gordie Howe
What can you say about Mr. Hockey? Incidentally, Howe would return to professional Hockey with the WHA’s New England Whalers and eventually the NHL in 1980 when WHA merged. Howe actually played in the NHL eight years after he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame!
Gordie Howe dominated everything in the sport. He was always atop or near the scoring ranks, he was considered one of the toughest, and was a multi-time Stanley Cup champion. Winning six Hart Trophies, four Stanley Cups, and retiring as the leading scorer in NHL history made Gordie Howe a sure thing to get inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. The three year wait was waived for Howe, and he entered in 1972. There is no case to be made against Gordie Howe for the Hall (although his return to pro hockey for years after had to make the HOF reconsider waiving the three year wait for players)
