70. Ray Whitney
Considering that the highest season points output for Ray Whitney are 83, it is incredible that he became the 79th player in NHL history to hit the 1,000 mark in a career.  This shows that he is very durable, underrated as many have claimed, and as many of stated, an asset on NHL roster. The problem was at no point in his career was he good enough for a Canadian Olympic or World Cup roster. Whitney was a good player, but if he was not good enough throughout his career to represent Canada at the world’s biggest tournament, how can he be a legitimate Hall of Famer?  Anyone with over 1,000 NHL career points might be discussed.

Ray Whitney, Martin St. Louis and Joe Mullen are the biggest overachiever s in NHL history. They were overlooked or afterthought s, viewed as "too small" but all displayed tenacity, toughness and durability that no one could have expected.

Mullen was deserving, and so are Whitney and St. Louis.

Ray Whitney should get a good look for HOF consideratio n. He might play a few more years & collect 450 goals with 1200 pts. He should be passing some of the HOFers soon. Whitney excelled in playoff time & was a known Penguins killer here in PGH.

His Cup win will carry some weight too. It's hard to win a Stanley Cup. I know from watching his game he'd get a HOF vote from me. KG
