I have to say that although Pavol Demitra may not have been one of the most popular players and does not have the total career numbers compared to most HOFers there is an arguement. If you break it down year by year, his PPG play in the most goaltender friendly era in the history of the NHL was one of the best in the league and he was able to do it for the majority of his career, when given the right opportunity. As much of a fan of the Ottawa Senators as I am, they certainly make their shares of mistakes on players and had a few misses, Pavol being possibly the player whos career was hurt the must because of it. He played four years for Ottawa and his numbers were pretty good for his experience, if they hadn't missed out on his talent I have no doubt he would have over 1000 games and points in his career. You really gotta look deep though so, there are many who deserve it before Pavol. But there should be a certain number of players from each era, and he may be one from his.
