I honestly thought he would be a first ballot of at least a year or two later. Shocked he hasn't gotten in yet. He accomplished everything Hall of fame goalies need to accomplish. Put Vernon in already!

HOF needs to wake up for Goalies (especially VACHON, MOOG, BARRASSO, VERNON, VANBIESBROUC K) Think about MIKE VERNON is in the TOP 15 ALL TIME in Hockey HISTORY in WINS, 2 Stanley Cups as a Starter with 2 Different Teams (How many Goalies can say that?? NOT MANY), William Jennings Trophy, ALL STAR GAMES and most important came through in Playoffs with CONN SMYTHE TROPHY. OK Vernon, Lindros, Barrasso wasn't the best guy to talk to after a game and was not great with media but HOUSLEY wasn't either and he deserved to get in AND DID. Vernon should get in with VACHON, MOOG, BARRASSO, VANBIESBROUC K no question.

I'm shocked Vernon is this low on the list with all of his accolades, and how clutch of a player he was in important moments throughout his career. Look up game 7 of the St. Louis Blues vs the Detroit Red Wings in the 95-96 playoffs. Perhaps the best save in NHL history, and perhaps the save that prevented Wayne Gretzky from having 5 Stanley Cups. I know Detroit didn't win that year, but he followed that up with a conn smythe trophy and the cup the next year. As far as I'm concerned he was the best goalie in the playoffs many times in his career, and recorded one of the best winning percentages ever while he was with the Flames. In fact in 89 when the flames won it, Vernons 37 6 and 5 record is the 2nd best winning percentage ever for a goalie who appeared in 50 or more games, the best? Osgood's 39 6 and 5 with the 132 point Red Wings in 96, the same team he was so great on. There is no argument, Vernon is a hoffer, so is Osgood!
