Here is a music stalwart who practically invented a sound of its own, that being surf guitar , and he is on the outside looking in. Makes no sense, which makes the R&R Hall a politically correct mess.

Easily the best guitar player I ever saw live. He needs to get in Hall of Fame.

It's a travesty that the man who created the sound that The Ventures co-opted is still on the outside looking in.

Dick is a true original. His showmanship is striking, and his musicianship undeniable. The list of artists he's influenced is a laundry list of iconic names... The Beach Boys, The Ventures, T-Bone Burnett, The Surfaris, Richie Allen, Dead Kennedys -- and even Jeff Beck, Chris Isaak and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Okay, so maybe I'm a little prejudiced in his favor... I sang with him for over three years, including on his 1980s 'comeback' album, "The Tiger's Loose" -- but really... how can the HOF overlook the man who created the roaring sounds of the waves and the power of the ocean, creating a new form of rock?

These folks need to really rethink how the nomination process is handled. :o
