He would play his more natural Small Forward position when Larry Bird came in, and in 1999-00 he took over the starting role. Rose would go from 11.1 Points to 18.2 Points per Game. He would do even better the following season with a 20.5 PPG and a career-high of 6.0 Assists per Game. While his stats were decent, he would be traded to the Chicago Bulls in an eight-player transaction early in the 2002-03 season.
Rose's overall numbers for the Pacers show a 14.2 PPG.
