Considering that Grant Hill had nearly twenty seasons in the National Basketball Association, it is hard to say that his career was a disappointment, but following a four year stint where he played only forty-seven games due to ankle issues (including one season where he didn’t play at all), much of his Basketball prime was taken away from him.
Still, prior to the ankle issues, Grant Hill was the NBA Rookie of the Year, and a five time Post Season All-NBA selection (one First Team and four Second Team) and had near perfect “Point Forward” skills. Hill would return from his horrific ankle issues to a starting role in the NBA, and though his production reduced, his Basketball savvy increased, to where he was still a good player.
To those who may put Grant Hill on the other side of the Hall of Fame bubble based on his professional numbers, his collegiate accomplishments at Duke more than more him over. Hill was part of two consecutive Blue Devils NCAA Championships, and took them to another Final is his final season. He was a consensus All-American and a former NCAA Defensive Player of the Year.
Hill is likely to be an early entry to the Hall of Fame.
