While he was not the most successful member of the Philadelphia Phillies throughout the 1980’s, there is no doubt that he was one of the most popular.

Or perhaps, he was just the most famous…or is that infamous?

Beyond his references on “The Goldbergs” and other pop culture programs, Hayes was a solid player who was an All Star in 1989.  Hayes would lead the National League in Runs and Doubles in 1986 and he would tabulate 124 Home Runs with 202 Stolen Bases with Philadelphia.

While Philly certainly gave a lot to get him (too much maybe?) he is still an icon in the City of Brotherly Love.  Actually, he always will be.
