An old rookie at 26 with the Washington Senators, Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics would trade for him, and from 1922 to 1925, he had three .300 seasons, and in the one year he didn't hit that mark, he batted .299.  He was deemed expendable and was dealt with the St. Louis Browns in 1926, but was back in 1928.

In Miller's second run with Philadelphia, he had three straight .300 seasons (1928-30) and was good for 150 Hits in those years, and the two seasons after.  The Rightfielder was a part of the A's 1929 and 1930 World Series Championship Team, and he was especially useful in the '29 Fall Classic, where he batted .368 with 4 RBIs.  His play declined in 1933 and was released two years after.

Miller's weak defense brings him down a few notches here, but overall, he is a player who batted .311 with 1,480 Hits as an Athletic.  Philadelphia would later induct Miller into their Baseball Wall of Fame in 1998.
