The first 11 seasons of Terry Steinbach’s career were with the Oakland A’s and the converted Catcher (he played Third initially in the Minors) would do well in the Majors in his new role.

Steinbach debuted with Oakland in 1986, and by the next season, he was taking the majority of the duties as their Catcher.  Steinbach was an above-average defensive player, and on three occasions, he was an All-Star (1988, 1989 & 1993).  For his position, he was a good hitter.  He had four 120 Hit campaigns and six seasons where he had at least double digits in Home Runs, which included a 35 tater year in 1996.  Steinbach was a necessary cog in Oakland’s three straight Pennants (1988-90), where he batted .281 in 25 Playoff Games.

That was his last season in Oakland, as he signed with the Minnesota Twins as a Free Agent afterward.  He would have 132 Home Runs with 1,144 Hits with Oakland.
