He would cement himself as an elite closer in the American League and in 2013 and 2014 he would Save 47 and 46 Games respectively while having ERAs under 1.50 and WHIPS under 1.000. Named an All-Star in both of those seasons, Holland regressed a bit in 2015 but he would be forced out due to elbow issues and underwent Tommy John Surgery. This would cost him not only the 2016 season but also the 2015 postseason where the Royals would win the World Series. He may not have been in the playoffs that year but there is no doubt that Kansas City could not have gotten there without him.
Holland would not be resigned at the end of the 2015 season and after sitting out the entire 2016 campaign he would be signed by the Colorado Rockies where he would lead the NL in Saves. After stops in St. Louis, Washington, and Arizona, Holland returned to the Royals bullpen in 2020, where he was in a set-up capacity for two years before he left for Texas. With the Royals, Holland had 159 Saves.
