Johnny Damon will always be best known for his run with the Boston Red Sox where he helped them win their first World Series in decades, but his star began as a member of the Kansas City Royals.

A late round First Round pick in 1992, Damon would gradually improve year after year.  In 1999 he was a .300 hitter and in 2000 he would again have a .300 year while leading the American League in both Runs Scored and Stolen Bases.  The small market Royals would unload Damon, but it was in KC where his star began.
