Denny McLain has the distinction of being the last 30 Game winner in Baseball; a feat he accomplished in 1968, which was the season he won the Cy Young, the MVP, and the World Series. He was not a one year wonder as he was again the Cy Young winner in ’69 and a 20 Game winner in 1966. His low ranking is attributed to really being a “three-year wonder” and he did not accomplish much else, though the brash hurler had a career that few can match.
Overall as a Tiger, he went 117-62 with 1,150 Strikeouts.
