Named the Sporting News and Baseball Player Minor League Player of the Year, Jay Bruce was called up in 2008 where the Reds Outfielder was fifth in Rookie of the Year voting.  Bruce built on that and would become one of the top players for Cincinnati in the first half of the 2010s.

Bruce went to consecutive All-Star Games in 2011 and 2012, both of which were years that earned him Silver Sluggers and a tenth-place finish in MVP voting.  From 2011 to 2013, Bruce belted at least 30 Home Runs, and as a Red, he also had five more 20-plus years.  Bruce did not hit for average, but 233 homers for a franchise is more than decent.

Bruce’s stay in Cincinnati ended when he was traded to the New York Mets following his third All-Star selection.
