Over the career of Chris Davis, two things are abundantly clear; he hits a lot of Home Runs, and he strikes out a lot more.

The Texas Rangers knew that about Davis, but with a backlog of First Baseman on the roster, they deemed him expendable, and he was traded to the during the 2011 season.  Davis showed his power with 33 Home Runs in 2012, and in 2013, he blasted 53 taters and would win his first Home Run Title.  He would also lead the American League in Runs Batted In (138) and was also a Silver Slugger and an All-Star.  For his efforts, he was third in voting for the MVP.  2014 was a down year, but he bounced back with his second Home Run Title (47), and he went yard 38 times in 2015.

The last three years were abysmal with sub .180 years, and he has been unable to reach 20 Home Runs in the previous two years. He retired during the 2021 Season after being on the IR, and though his last few years were awful, you have to be really good at one point, to be really bad.
