This was evident, as he was only an All-Star once as an Oriole, but in the five seasons of his first run in Baltimore, Palmeiro was always in the top ten in Home Runs. In the last four years, he had at least 100 Runs Batted In, and in the first two years, he was a .300 Hitter. In all of those seasons, Palmeiro received MVP votes, peaking at sixth in 1996. Palmeiro would also win the Silver Slugger in 1998, and he secured the Gold Glove in 1997 and 1998. After 1998, he signed with the Texas Rangers as a Free Agent.
He resigned with the Orioles in 2004 and had a decent year, but his 2005 season, which would be his final one in the majors, was a disaster. He would collect his 3,000th Hit, and joined the 3,000 Hit/500 Home Run Club, but ten days later, he was suspended for PED use. This was also only a few months after emphatically saying he never used PEDs before Congress. This likely cost him a trip to the Hall of Fame, and to date, the Orioles Hall of Fame.
Nevertheless, as an Oriole, he had 1,071 Hits, 223 Home Runs, and a Slugging Percentage of .520.
